Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel remained in camp and did not set out, but when it lifted they set out.

Numbers 9:22 (ESV)

Lord Jesus, today is a travel day for me. As my mind reflects upon what is before me, my soul immediately pondered on the reality that You have called me to follow You.

There is this saying that we quote in the church a lot, “Where You lead I will follow.” Yet, I must confess, unlike trips that we take to in my car where I can plug in my cellphone and follow Google Maps or Waze, it is often not easy for me to truly know where You are leading me on this side of eternity. I get confused, seeing what I believe to be a movement of Your Spirit over here or over there, only to find that I might have been following a whim. Or I embark on one thing and You send someone into my life who makes me feel like I have missed You all together.

Your Word declares we walk by faith and not by sight. But to be honest with You, I sometimes really could use better faith eyes!

Master, this passage gives me a great deal of comfort today as it reminds me that You are still leading whether I see it or not. The call is for me to keep looking for You. Like those Israelites I am to keep my eyes on You. In my soul I can hear Your words resonate, “Seek and you shall find.”

Well today, Lord, I want You; to follow You and to be with You. Guide my path. Open my eyes to the movement of Your Spirit in my life. Sensitize me to Your “little” adjustments here and there to the plan. But more than anything, give me the peace that comes with being in Your presence. I look towards You today in holy expectation, believing and trusting that You are going to do something so remarkable and so glorious that I will know without a shadow of a doubt that You are in my midst! Have Your way to Your glory in my life. Amen.
