“While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them.
John 12:36
Lord Jesus, help my heart not to be so hard and my countenance so stubborn that You must hide Yourself from me to teach me a lesson. I pray that You would not leave me to my own devices, having tried to teach me the same lesson over and over again, determining that the only way I will learn is for me to go through the hard knocks of consequences. Give me a tender heart, one that is conscious of my failings and shortcomings, keen to rush to Your feet in repentance and receive the spiritual renewal that I desperately need. Help me to keep my eyes on You, following after You and Your example, yielding to the urgings of the Holy Spirit, that I might not only walk obediently before You, but may also reflect who You are to the waiting world. I want to let my light shine as it finds as its source You, the Light of the world. Continue Your masterful work within me, transforming me into a child of light to Your glory. Amen.
