For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off.
Deuteronomy 30:11
Father, how true are these words! What You have commanded is not too hard, what You require is very reasonable. Yet they are impossible to keep in a sinful state. My propensity to satisfy the desires of my flesh, being tempted by it and the enemy, put me in a perpetual cycle of disobedience.
Yet, the good news is that Jesus came and died, canceling sins effect, infusing me with His precious Holy Spirit enabling me to do what pleases You. Only by His power, made mine by Your grace, is this verse a reality in my life. In Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit what You command me today is not too hard for me! I can do all things through Him! Glory!
I rejoice today because it is now my aim to please You, my heart set on making You smile. And this is not because of anything inherent in me. It is because You have changed me, given me a new life. Hallelujah! As You uncover to me all the flaws, challenges, and ways which I displease You, it is now my heartfelt desire to rush to Your throne seeking forgiveness, correcting the wrong, and changing my behavior in the future, never to do it again.
So, I thank You for this precious gift of life, love and forgiveness. I thank You for saving me from my sin and myself. I thank You for the favor that is now mine through my relationship with Jesus, that when You see me You see Him. Accepting Him into my life was indeed not hard nor far off. And because of Him there is nothing I can do that can cause You to love me any more or less than You do right now! Glory to Your Name! Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus! Amen!
