You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.

Deuteronomy 15:10-11

Lord, I come before You with gratitude, acknowledging that though I have wants, You have always provided for my needs. I am blessed. Yet, as I look around, I see many who lack—those begging in the streets, immigrants shunned by society, and others simply down on their luck.

Too often, my heart has been hardened by worldly thinking, judging their situation instead of offering compassion. But their past is not my concern—their suffering is. You have blessed me so that I may bless others, that I might be a vessel of hope and love. Who am I to withhold what You have freely given me?

You remind me that the poor will always be among us, and You call me not to give out of obligation, but out of love. Let me not turn away today, rationalizing why I shouldn’t help. Instead, open my eyes to the opportunity to share both provision and the good news of Your love. Show me whom I can bless today, and enable me to do so joyfully. In Your Name I pray, Amen.
