Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said, “Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don’t you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in? ‘You have eyes—can’t you see? You have ears—can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all?

Lord Jesus, help me today to connect the dots regarding the work that You are doing in my life. Help me to see the message to me behind the obvious, the kernels of truth that You want me to know and understand about Who You are and what You are doing in my life in the moment.
I confess that I can get caught up and entangled with the superficial, seeing like the disciples what You are doing on the surface while completely missing the underlying, overarching spiritual significance of the moment. In that mode I completely miss the “what” You are teaching me.
Today, please show me the interrelatedness of all that You are doing in my life. Show me their interconnectedness and the overall message that You are revealing to me. Enable me to not only see Your hand at work but also hear Your voice guiding and directing me. But most of all, help me to remember all the little details, things that seem insignificant to others but are foundational to my understanding of what You are doing that I might align my will with Your will, and be used by You to glorify the Father and advance Your Kingdom. I pray this in Your Name. Amen.
