Therefore his people turn back to them, and find no fault in them.
Psalm 73:10
LORD, help me to keep my eyes on the prize that is in Christ Jesus this day. I confess that when I look at the world, the advancements that those who do not know You make, and the benefits that they enjoy, it is hard to find a fault in them. When I observe how their lives appear to be “easier” and how they seem to be without a care, I, like the psalmist, almost slip back in pursuit of a life like them. When I look at them on the outside it is hard to find fault in how they live their lives. Yet, I know that all that glitters is not gold! The benefits that the world enjoys is but for a season, whereas that which I am resting in today in You lasts for eternity! Keep me mindful of this real fact. Continue to assure me that all that I do for the kingdom is not in vain, but shall reap an eternal reward. Though my efforts may not appear to be making a difference in my eyes, remind me that it is and never has been about me or my efforts. It has always been about You and what You are doing in me and through me. Indeed, I may sow, scatter or water. It is You that brings the increase. Let the fruit of my sacrifice bring glory to Your Name! And let me find my soul’s contentment and satisfaction in it this day in Jesus’ Name and for His glory. Amen.
