Then let us bring again the ark of our God to us, for we did not seek it in the days of Saul.”
1 Chronicles 13:3
LORD, help me to learn from the mistakes and errors of others, internalizing what they did and did not do, so that I can modify my behavior, serving You loyally and following You faithfully. Show me the little things that have made a difference between success and failure before. Don’t allow my eyes to miss the smallest detail. Help me to be intentional about pleasing You, not for the purpose of earning Your favor. For when I am at my best I fall dreadfully short. Nor for the purpose of making up for what I have done. Indeed, Christ Jesus has paid that price! Instead, my desire stems from this deep sense of love and gratitude that I have for You. Because I love You so much I want so desperately to please You! Therefore, whatever I must do to learn from my missteps and the missteps of others, help me to do so. Show me throughout this day even the most minute steps that I can take to please You. You are the love of my life. It is You my heart longs for, even pants for, searching to find glimmers of Your presence. Oh, that I might present to You some token to display the magnitude of my love! Hence, I must settle for these selfless acts. Order my steps, LORD, that I might show You my love through my growth and service to You in Jesus’ Name.
