When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread, he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

Psalm 105:16-17

Father God, my soul finds comfort today remembering that all things work together for my good! This day Your Word reminds me that though Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery that it was You that had ordained it! You had purposed that that dark time would be manifested in his life. You had ordered the steps of all that transpired in his life. You sent him ahead of them to Egypt. And ultimately You raised him up in Potiphar and Pharaoh’s houses. Why? Because You summoned a famine in the land and intended to use Joseph to be a blessing to those who had it out for him! Look at You! How awesome! My soul rejoices and finds great comfort in knowing that You are in complete and total control! Nothing can come my way except it first passes through Your righteous hands! You are orchestrating the events of life, ensuring that Your beloved ones are cared for and that Your will is done. Father, I take great comfort in knowing this. What my enemies mean for evil, You mean it for good! Help me to navigate through the challenges of this day – the heartbreaks, headaches, and pressure points – knowing that You are in control and that in the end it will be well. You bring the victory! Help me to move confidently in the tension between the “already but not yet” of this walk, knowing that it will inevitably be all right. Amen.
