Now the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley. During that night the LORD said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands. If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” So he and Purah his servant went down to the outposts of the camp.

Judges 7:8b-11 (NIV)

Father, as I walk into this new week my heart finds great comfort in knowing that You see me, know what’s on my mind, and are intimately aware of the cares, concerns, and fears that I am harboring. You see what I am struggling with, the apprehension that I have regarding what is before me, and have compassion on me regarding my cares. And the good news is that You do not judge me for it. Nor do You rebuke and chastise me for my lack of faith. But instead You either provide a word of encouragement to me like You did with that father who proclaimed, “I believe, help my unbelief,” or You raise up a Purah in my life, a branch that causes me to grow beyond my doubts.

So today, I pray that You would encourage me to listen to what is being said and find the encouragement that I need to run this race and confront what You bring my way. Continue to remind me through the encouragement of my friends, the revelations from Your Word, and the “fleece” moments in my life that the battles are not mine but Yours. Give me the strength and the resolve to get up and go see what You are doing behind the scenes as You prepare a way for me and my loved ones to walk in victory.

Father, my song today is

I trust in God, my Savior

The one who will never fail

He will never fail…

I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered

That’s why I trust Him, that’s why I trust Him!

Be ever glorified in my eyes in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
