We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. 1 Thessalonians 1:4 (NLT)
Father, my soul delights today in the knowledge that You have personally chosen me to be part of Your family! To think, it had nothing to do with what I had to bring to the table (Titus 3:5) but was solely by Your power (Romans 1:16)! Declaring that I am not worthy does not even begin to scratch the surface on that truth! And why would You do this? Because You love me! Me! Despite my brokenness You love me! Despite my rebelliousness You love me! Despite my waywardness You love me! Me! John’s words so resonate in my heart this morning, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
Thank You, Father, for loving the unlovable, which includes me. Thank You for seeing me, my need, and meeting it fully and completely in Christ. Thank You for sending Him, the Friend of all friends, my true Brother, Who loves me as much as You do, to do for me what I could not do for myself. Thank You for choosing me when I could not make the choice, opening the eyes of my understanding when I wanted to keep them closed, and compelling me with Your irresistible grace!
My heart is filled with love and joy today as I approach the wealth of possibilities that You have for me. Continue to well up within me affectionate desires for Your children, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and pour me out into their lives even as You poured out Jesus in mine. I give myself away that You might use me for the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God! I am Yours! Use me in Jesus’ Name! Amen!
