O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you?
Psalm 71:17-19
Father God, this day I give You thanks and praise Your holy Name! Who is like You, that grants pardon to the unpardonable and grace to the ungrateful? Who gives forgiveness for the unforgivable and mercy to the merciless? Yet, in Your infinite wisdom and unfailing love You have given to me and all who call upon Your Name pardon, forgiving us of all of our sins and justifying us in Your eyes through Christ Jesus! This day of thanksgiving I begin by giving thanks to the One Who made it all happen – You. You are the reason my soul can find something in this world to be grateful for because it was You Who bestowed it upon me. You made a way when I could not find my way out. You made provision when I was at my last portion. You granted me favor when it seemed like all backs were turned. You have kept me from times past to this very moment. LORD, I praise Your Name this day! Grant me the breath to let everyone know how good You have been. Empower Your servant to be a herald of Your goodness, letting anyone who will listen know that You, O God, are high above the heavens and Your glory is above all the nations! I give You the highest praise, hallelujah! Glory to You in the highest! Be exalted! Amen!
