Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in Your power to do it.
Proverbs 3:27 (ESV)
Lord, today I come recognizing that I have indeed been truly blessed. You have supplied all of my needs and have caused my cup to overflow with abundance.
So many around me are hurting, suffering from the pains of lack and finding themselves in a situation where they are worried about tomorrow. Others are overwhelmed by the challenges of life, pressed into a place of despair, not knowing what will become of them and concerned that there is nothing they can do to improve their condition.
Yet, You have put me above such regular concerns. You have established me and strengthened with me. You have ensured that I have lacked no good thing. My life has been better than I deserve and my state more than I ever could have imagined. In Your wisdom You have done this in order that I might reflect Your glory in a tangible way.
I come before You today and ask for eyes of mercy in order that I might see my fellow travelers as they truly are. Let me get past the façade that we all put up to conceal our true state of being and enable me to see them as You do. Enable me to fully comprehend their state of mind as well as emotional state. Enable me to encourage and supply for those hurting around me.
It is my desire to be Your tangible hand in the life of somebody this day. Whether it is a kind word, a gentle embrace or a generous gift, let me bless somebody! Use me, Lord, to share my overflow and abundance into the lives of those who cross my path. Let my thanksgiving overflow and become the thanksgiving of another. Whether they deserve it or not, let me be blessing even as You have caused others to bless me, especially when I did not deserve it.
Thank You for be the source of all that is good in my life. In gratitude I want to pay it forward. Use me to do so in Jesus’ Name. Amen
