Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

2 Peter 1:12 (ESV)

Lord, thank You for raising up in my life individuals who regularly remind me of who I am and Whose I am. Thank for their willingness to even offend me and my current notions of who I think I am to remind me that You have created me to be more. I truly appreciate how they challenge me in how I show up even though I confess in the moment I may not –  no usually do not – like it. Through them I am reminded that this world is passing away, and that only what I do for You and Your Kingdom will last. They challenge me to let go of my desire to grasp what this world has to offer and to lay hold of what You have placed before me. It is their love for me that insists on ensuring that I am established in the truth. For this, I am grateful.

Thank You for allowing them to see the best in me, giving them ahead of heartfelt belief that I am more and can be more than how I show up. Thank You for their words of encouragement and their godly “egging on” for me to show up different, better, and their heartfelt belief that there is more deep down inside of me that is yet to be revealed by You. I am better and become better because You have placed them in my life.

Help me today to neither turn a blind eye and ear to them nor disregard their wise counsel. Challenge me in my heart of hearts to embrace their correction and encouragement, holding them and it dear, recognizing that it is a supreme show of love that they care enough to challenge me and point me towards You. Please don’t allow them to give up or let up on me. And in the same way, don’t allow me to give up on them. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
