And he had to pass through Samaria.
John 4:4
Lord Jesus, these seven words today fill me with so much joy! Unassuming, for sure. Yet, when I think about what will happen following these simple words, how the lives of the Samaritan woman and her community will be transformed by You being there, and not seeing any other reason for You to be required to pass through Samaria, I cannot help but rejoice and celebrate Your sovereignty and the execution of Your will!
This so reminds me that You are constantly thinking of Your people; that You see what we are standing in the need of, and make it Your business to pass through our way! When You pass through lives are changed. When You pass through eyes are opened. When You pass through souls are saved! Hallelujah! Amen!
As I navigate through this day, like the woman at the well, give me a spirit of inquiry to ask the questions that are on my mind. Help me to seek Your truth with all my heart, and don’t allow me to settle for anything less than You. Don’t allow me to be selfishly satisfied with the filling that You impart on my spirit, but give me a Holy Spirit inspired anxiousness to tell somebody else about the overflow that You have provided for me at the Well of Life. Fill our cups to overflowing with Your glory and Your presence today and everyday. Thank You for having to “pass through” where I am! Amen!
