But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

Matthew 9:36 (NKJV)

Jesus wept.

John 11:35 (NKJV)

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV)

Lord Jesus, my soul finds peace this morning in the fact that You know what I am going through, understand the pressures on my life, are acquainted with my suffering, and are familiar with my struggles. You know my heartaches and longings, and truly feel my pain. Nothing coming my way has not been experienced by You. You are the ultimate Empathizer! You see me, in all of my brokenness, and love me with an everlasting love. When I cry, You cry. When I am sad, You are sad. When I rejoice, You rejoice. You are the lifter up of my head, that true Friend that sticks closer than a brother, my all-in-all plus nothing. Glory to Your Name!

I pray today for Your peace to rest upon me. Life will continue to keep lifin’. I will continue to experience loss, hurt, pain, and disappointment. I will continue to feel drained and at my wit’s end. Yet, I have confidence in this: You will be with me through it all. You will give me what I stand in need of in the moment. You will be my strength. And that will be enough. As long as You are with me I know that everything will be alright.

It is my prayer today that You would let Your presence be known to me throughout this day. As I navigate through the difficulties of the day, continue to remind me that I am not going through it alone, but that You see me, have compassion on me, and will bring me through, supplying all of my needs. Hold me up, Lord. Encourage my soul, my King. Speak peace into my heart, my Savior. Love up on me, Master, that I might be able to press on and be who You are calling me to be today and every day to Your glory. Amen.
