These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
John 15:11
Lord Jesus, as I reflect upon all that You have declared to me – not only about Yourself, but also about who I am in You – my soul cannot help but find great joy and comfort in it.
The fact that the Creator and Sustainer of all life would first of speak to me is mind blowing in and of itself. I live in a world where getting close to dignitaries is almost impossible, let alone famous folks, unless you know somebody with influence. Yet, I am in relationship with You not because I knew someone with an in to You who promised to get Your attention and introduce us. No. I know You because You first knew me, loved me, and pursued me. Me! And if it wasn’t enough, You spoke life into my soul and poured You joy into my being. I brought nothing to this relationship. It was all You!
Today, my joy is full. My soul rejoices because it is not just my joy. It is Your joy manifesting itself in me, oozing out my spiritual pores and splattering all over everything and everyone I come into contact with. This joy I have finds as its eternal source You!
Help me to be a bastion of joy for everyone I come into contact with today. Let my joy rub off on them even as Your joy has rubbed on me! Amen!
