And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
Colossians 2:13-15
Father God, help me today to walk in the forgiveness that is mine in Jesus Christ, no longer living in the shame of my past transgressions, realizing that in Him I have been not only forgiven, but all that I have owed regarding my trespasses has been canceled! I confess that I often carry around with me the guilt and shame resulting from my sinfulness, feeling not only unworthy, but also as if the stain of my sinfulness defines me. When I engage with others there can be this sense that I stand before them guilty and without pardon. Yet, in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice, I have been declared by You innocent, His righteousness imputed to me, an undeserving creature, with His holiness now being mine. All of my sins, both past, present and future, have been nailed to the cross. I have been crucified with Him! I no longer live, but it is Christ Who lives in me and through me! This life I now live I live by faith in Him! Help me to quiet the thoughts in my head that doubt the efficacy of this great salvation. Continue to enable me to walk boldly in the confidence that Jesus has paid it all! Give me a voice to shout from the mountaintops of the wonder of this new life that is mine! LORD, I thank You for regularly reminding me that I am His, bought with a price. Today, I purpose to walk in that reality, knowing that He loves me and gave Himself up for me! Thank Master for changing my life! Be glorified in Jesus’ Name!
