The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. Psalm 16:5 (ESV)
LORD, you are my portion and my cup of blessing; you hold my future.
Psalm 16:5 (CSB)
O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. Psalm 16:5 (NKJV)
You, Eternal One, are my sustenance and my life-giving cup. In that cup, You hold my future and my eternal riches.
Psalm 16:5 (Voice)
LORD, you alone are everything I need. You make my life secure.
Psalm 16:5 (NIrV)
Lord Jesus, no matter how I choose to say it, no matter what version I choose to speak from, the heart and sentiment remains the same: You are my all-in-all, everything I need! You keep and sustain my life. You are the greatest blessing I have ever and will ever receive. You are my hope for tomorrow, what I look forward to. You are the reward that is laid up for me in eternity. You are the One Who makes my life worth living. You!
In a world that attempts to entice me to go this way or that, to slowly detour off the path, my heart is fixed and my mind is made up: I choose You. There is nothing in this world that can take the place of being with You, sitting in Your presence, resting in Your arms. Indeed, my cup runs over when I am with You!
This day my desire is to be filled with Your presence, to bask in Your glory, to worship at Your feet. Yes, I know that there are “life things” that I need to tend to. But throughout this day it is my soul’s desire just to walk with You, fellowship with You, be with You. Don’t allow the allures of this world to steal my attention from You. Instead, help me to see You in everything, Your workings in the world around me. Let me hear Your guidance and consoling words when others speak to me. Let me see Your hands orchestrating the activities of life around me. Let me experience the unfolding of Your will in the events that impact me. The world is filled with Your glory. Continue to put it on display before me!
I love You, Lord, with all of my heart. Thank You for first loving me. I truly sing Your praises this day! Amen.
