For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.”

Isaiah 30:15 (NASB)

Father God, as I start this week out, my soul seeks stillness before You. Though my mind is geared up for all the activities and engagements that I will be confronted with over the course of this day and the coming days, I intentionally, this morning, put the anxiety of the “upcoming” aside, and purposefully steal away in this moment to find my rest in You.

As I survey the condition of my soul, show me the unsavory places and sullied corners where I have allowed unrepentant sin to take up residence in my heart. Expose how I fall short of Your righteous standard, how I have allowed my heart to slowly drift away from You. As I internalize the depth of my betrayal and the chasm that it creates from Your presence, purge me, oh LORD, that I might no longer carry this guilt and shame. Forgive me Father, in the Name of Jesus, and make me whole in Him!

LORD, I thank You for the grace that is mine in my Savior. I thank You for Your glorious willingness to forgive and to forget. It is my prayer that You would compel me to regularly come to this place of soul solace, where I can draw upon Your grace and mercy, finding in Christ the strength I need to press on. It is in this quiet time that I truly experience what it means to be one with You. Thank You, for this divine connection that has been manifested through the Holy Spirit and the glorious sacrifice that was made on my behalf. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
