For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile everything to himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Colossians 1:19-20

Father God, I thank You this morning for the life and sacrifice of Jesus on my behalf. I cannot begin to fully comprehend the pain and suffering He had to endure to redeem me. Unfortunately I stand convicted of taking for granted this great and wonderful salvation, often not truly grasping the magnitude of the accomplished work. When I think about the fact that the eternal God was manifested in the flesh, the fullness of the Creator dwelling amongst His creation, taking upon Himself all the infirmities that come with being a man, and that He subjected Himself not only to the authorities of this world, but also to the sufferings that come with being subjected to imperfect man, to the point where He submitted Himself to their unrighteous judgement and surrendered His life, I cannot help but ask the question, “Who would do such a thing?” Even as Paul reminds me, “For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” How can You love me so much that You would do such a thing? It is too wonderful for me to comprehend! My soul falls to the ground in worship of You this day. I thank You for the marvelous salvation that is mine through Christ Jesus. Help me today to walk worthy of the calling that You have placed on me in Him. Let my testimony encourage someone to give their life to You. I pray today that You would use me, enabling me to give back a portion of what You have given to me. I know that I can never repay You for this marvelous act of love. But let my living bring You glory this day. Receive me into Your presence, oh LORD, that I might dwell in peace with You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
