And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Colossians 1:21-23

Father God, I come before You this morning confessing my brokenness and sinfulness that I know falls short of Your holy standard. Though I try, I continue to fall. Yet, it is my desire to please You in all that I do. I want my life to reflect the reality of my reconciliation with You, overflowing with joy founded in the hope that I have in Christ Jesus. Yet, when I take two steps forward, sin seems to pull me back one. LORD, I cling this morning to the cross of Jesus Christ. By faith I hold fast to the sacrifice He made on my behalf. Purge me this day of all the transgressions that I have committed, both in thought and deed. Cleanse my soul and cloak me in the righteousness of Christ that I might stand blameless and above reproach before You. Fill me with Your Spirit afresh this day that I might continue in the faith, steadfast and stable, no longer shifting back and forth between works righteousness and justification by faith, but instead trusting, leaning and depending solely on the finished work of my Savior. I thank You this morning for giving me ears to hear and a heart to embrace the gospel. Because of it, for me to live is Christ and to die is gain! Thank You for Your forgiveness and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ Name I pray. AMEN!
