Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.

Revelation 22:12 (ESV)

Lord Jesus, my soul this morning exclaims with John, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” The world and its burdens weigh heavy on me, causing me to just want to call it quits. I must confess that sometimes I get so very tired! The only place where I can find relief is in Your presence, Your Word comforting me, and Your Spirit calming my soul.

You challenge me not to be weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). but I must confess it is hard. It seems like everyone is looking out for themselves, oblivious to the plight of those next to them. It is against this backdrop that I am reminded that You have called Your children to pour their lives into the lives of others, not looking to what they can do for us, but what we can do for them (Luke 6:35). My reward is not here but in Your presence.

So today, I come to You, Master, seeking to be refueled, replenished, reinvigorated. Fill me, Lord, with Your Spirit. Cause my cup to overflow that I might pour my life into others from the abundance that You supply within me. As I wait upon Your return, help me to keep my hands to the plow, working while it is still day. Use me to sow good seeds into the lives of those I come into contact with, demonstrating Your love in a tangible way. It is my aim to be that servant You find diligently working upon Your return (Matthew 24:45-46). Continue to show me the harvest that might labor in Your fields, and refresh my soul that I might not be weary. Amen.
