The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:23-25
As I meditate on Your perfect priesthood, one that exceeds that established in times of old, I get great comfort in knowing that You will always be there. There have been many individuals that I have confided in, seeking their advice and counsel, only for them to go away and no longer be part of my life for one reason or another. And what’s more, though in many instances their words were timely and soul stirring, there were times when their words missed the mark, with them not truly understanding what was going on within me nor being able to see what You were trying to bring to pass in my circumstances.
But You, Lord Jesus, are perfect in all of Your ways. You have eternal fellowship with God the Father, knowing His perfect will and translating it for me to understand. In Your counsel is perfect guidance and direction. In Your service to me is wholeness. When I come to You I am not only walking into the presence of the my Great High Priest, I am walking into the presence of my God. What’s more, my soul rejoices in knowing that You shall forever intercede on my behalf, counting my sins and shortcomings paid for by Your precious blood. Oh the joy that is mine through You, my Lord!
I worship You today, lifting You on high, celebrating the fact that nothing can separate me from Your love. As I walk in it today, show me how I can love even as You love, serve even as You serve, and sacrifice even as You sacrifice, my life shining brightly as a reflection of Your glory. Amen!
