Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.
Ezekiel 11:16
My Lord, as I approach the challenges of the day stepping out into the elements, both physical and spiritual, I confess that sometimes I feel alone and vulnerable. There is so much coming at me from so many directions. My soul quickly becomes weary, often thinking, “Here we go again.” Much of it is of my own making, the consequences and results of decisions made many times without seeking Your guidance. Like a foreigner in a land whose tongue is unfamiliar I grope for answers, unable to communicate with anyone the state of my soul.
Yet today my soul finds peace knowing that You have been and always will be a sanctuary for me, a place I can steal away to and find peace. In Your presence I can escape the turmoil of “now” and find order as You put the chaos that rages before me into calm, calling out, “Peace. Be still.” Hallelujah! I thank and praise You today for Your glorious provision!
Lord, I joyfully rush to Your feet today, feasting on Your Word and quietly waiting to hear what You have to say to me in the moment, words that I am sure will fuel my soul throughout this day. Your peace is beyond my understanding, this joy that I am experiencing right now a constant reminder of Your never failing love. I recognize that it waxes pale as compared to the joy that will be mine when I see You face-to-face. Until that time, I will savor this moment, using it as a guidepost to point me and others into daily, moment-by-moment fellowship with You. Thank You for Your provision. Amen.
