But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”
Matthew 14:30
Lord Jesus, as I am confronted by the challenges of the day, when I see the winds of change coming against me, remind me that I should cry out to YOU first for my help and not place my trust solely in all of the other places I tend to lean on. My habit is to rely on either myself or those around me to bring me through. I realize You have equipped us with what we need in the moment. But if I am honest with You, my tendency is to look to myself or others first. Yet, though You work through me and others, ultimately it is You that saves. You are the difference maker. It is by Your power that I overcome. So today Lord Jesus, I look to Your first. My soul cries out to You first. I place my trust in You first. As You see fit raise up around me those whom You choose to use to bring me help. According to Your divine pleasure strengthen me today to endure and persevere as I go through waiting on You. But, regardless of all this, Lord Jesus, I look to You today for my help. Send Your deliverance my way as You see fit as I wait on You and continually give You the praises that are due You. Be glorified by my circumstances. Amen.
