And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Lord Jesus, use me today to be a light of encouragement to someone who is struggling with where they are or with what appears to be the hand they are dealt with. How many times have I been in a situation where I have been discouraged and ready to give up, only for You to send someone who reminds me of the tremendous cost that You paid for me and Your staying power, which is available to me? All I had to do was ask and lean on You. How many times have You used others to hold me up? Well, I need to be that person today. And not just me. Your entire church.
So, I pray today also for the church, that we would not just be an institution but instead a network of relationships, individuals sold out for You and bought into Your vision for our relationships. I pray that we would cease from just being about the physical structure or the reputation of our ministry over the years but instead be known as a group of individuals who love so deeply both You and our fellow travelers, that individuals are compelled to come and see what all the fuss is about. I pray that You would continue Your great work of transforming us into a living organism, the body of Christ, each member being vital to our continued thriving. Lord, I am my brothers’ keeper. Help me to be that today and forever until we who love You see You face-to-face. Amen.
