Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.

Lord Jesus I rejoice this morning regarding the transformation that You have wrought in me and my life through Your sacrifice and the gift of the Holy Spirit. I remember how I was before I knew You and the path that my life was taking. I was consumed with satisfying the lusts of my flesh, walking on a path of self glorification, lost in doing what was right in my own eyes. I thought I was making a difference. And in truth I was. But it wasn’t the positive difference I believed I was making but was a negative one, one that was all about me and temporal satisfaction. In fact, I was kingdom useless.
And then one day, after having hit rock bottom, You opened my eyes and shined a light on my life revealing to me how I was. I saw that I was most pitiful. And then I, for the first true time, heard the gospel. Not that I had not “heard” it before. I had. But I heard it with new ears, a new perspective, and I saw my desperate need for what only You could offer, and I rushed into Your loving arms. And since that day I have never been the same. Hallelujah! Glory to Your Name!
I thank You for the work You are doing in me and through me. I thank You for making me more and more “Kingdom Fit.” As You daily fill me with Your Spirit and direct me in my going out and coming in I can see how You are taking the little that I bring and multiplying it that it might change lives and bring glory to Your Name. The difference I am now making far exceeds what I could ever have done in my lost state. And I give all the credit to You. It is You at work in me both to will and to do Your good pleasure. What an awesome God You are!
I pray today that You would continue to use me to be a blessing to others. Show me how I can, through my humble acts of love, fuel hope, provide peace, and lend a helping hand to those around me. I know I don’t have much to give. But what I have I give to You that You might use it to build Your Kingdom. I am Your servant and I run to You. Use me as You see fit all to Your glory. Amen.
