He had been instructed in the way of the Lord. And being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

Acts 18:25-27

Father God, I thank You that You have raised up in my life individuals who love me enough to teach me things more accurately. I am impressed this morning by the fact that they do not come across as those looking for errors in my thoughts and ways, critiquing and criticizing me for where I am. Instead, they pull me to the side and explain things to me more accurately. This is especially helpful and I am especially grateful for how they do this with the things of You. They do not leave me with this overwhelming sense of guilt. Instead, they empower me to be able to go out and speak more boldly and effectively to what I hold true. I pray today that You would make me receptive to their leadings and guidance. I pray that I would not have a spirit of defensiveness or resentment, nor that I would feel offended or not valued, appreciated or respected. Instead, give me a receptive mindset, one that is open to their insights, slow to be offended, quick to be corrected. Help me to receive them as messengers of God sent to me to open my eyes to a greater truth in You. Let me receive them even as I would receive You speaking to me, as I believe You are doing so through them. And finally, help me to be humbly be that to someone else, loving them more than I love myself, and only wishing to pour my life into them even as others have done so for me. Then You will be glorified because of the masterful work You are doing through all of us in Jesus’ Name. I pray this for His glory. Amen.
