While he was saying these things to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.” And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples.

Matthew 9:18-19

Lord Jesus, I come before You trusting that You can and will do the impossible for those I love and care about. I know that there is nothing that is too hard for You. Yet, I also know that this world will be coming at them with a torrential fervor, seeking to first break their spirits, and inevitably disrupt their trust in You. You said for us to call upon You and You would answer, and show us great and wonderful things that we have not known. You said that You would be our strength and that You would uphold us with Your right hand. You said that You would be with us, never leaving us nor forsaking us. Today, I stand in the gap, praying for all of my friends and loved ones, asking that You would manifest these promises in their lives. I pray Lord that You would place a hedge of protection around them, keeping them from those who would take advantage of them and do them harm. Give them divine discernment that they might see things as You see them and look beyond the surface to understand the true intent of the matters. Stir up within them a spirit of trust and faith in You, refreshing their walk with You, encouraging their souls and giving them a new hope. And for those that don’t know You, cross their paths with the right people and give us the words to say that will resonate deep down within their souls, causing their eyes to open and enabling them to truly hear and understand Your glorious ability to give them new life. LORD, I bring them to You, in all of their brokenness, knowing that You are their only hope. Move in their lives to Your glory this day. I pray this in Your Name. Amen.
