Thus says the LORD of hosts: “In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Zechariah 8:23 (ESV)

Lord Jesus, I thank You for Your eternal promise to never leave me nor forsake me (Matthew 28:20b, Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5b). Through Your shed blood, my sins, which separated me from the Father, have been washed clean (1 John 1:7), and I now stand complete in You (Colossians 2:10). My life is a testimony to Your goodness and mercy! Who I am and ever hope to be is bound up in Who You are and Your plans for me. Indeed, I decrease that You might increase in me, that the light shining from within me might point all who see or experience me to the Father (Matthew 5:16).

It is my aim and my heart’s deepest desire that my living might be a magnet drawing men, women and children to You. Continue to show me those areas of my life that do not reflect or represent You as they should. I want to change them. Prod me on the plethora of opportunities that You place before me each day to demonstrate Your love in a tangible way. I want to love like You love. Press my conscience to do the right thing at all times and to all people. I want to live like You lived. Lord Jesus, it is my life’s purpose to declare to all who will listen to me about how good You are!

So, today I pray for the fruit of this mind and these actions: that folks would grab my coat tail and say, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you,” that we could, together, come into Your presence and worship You, and experience as a community Your love for us to Your glory and the glory of the Father. Amen!
