In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Colossians 2:11-12

Father God, I am a new creation in Christ Jesus! Unlike anything else that You have created, You have uniquely shaped me, and those like me who call upon His Name. He has circumcised me, separating my flesh from my spirit, and through baptism I am now associated with His death, so that I can also be associated with His resurrection. In this miraculous act at Your hands, my life is in Christ, His acts of obedience being accounted to me. By dying and rising with Christ, sin and the flesh have no power over me. I rejoice today because I can, through the power of the Holy Spirit, live the new life that You have called me to live, following in Christ’s footsteps and living as He has called me to live. Today, I purposely put off the worldly passions that continue to float into my mind, and the sinful behaviors that have beset me, and I look to Jesus as my source of inspiration and encouragement, Your Word for my guidance and direction, and Your Spirit for my empowerment and perseverance. In You I have everything I need for life and godliness. Use me LORD, that my life might bring praise to Your Name. Use me LORD that I might life might be a pleasing sacrifice to You. Use me LORD that Jesus might be high and lifted up in the eyes of all who come into contact with me. LORD, I surrender all in praise and worship! Be glorified in Jesus’ Name!
