Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us.
Psalm 4:6 (NIV)
Lord, You define what it means to prosper, to thrive. You shape what abundance looks like. So often I try to define what it means to be blessed by the things of this world – what I have accumulated, what I have in my pocket. Yet, true wealth is not measured in dollars and cents. True wealth is not determined by what I have. True wealth is defined by Who I have in my life! With You in my life I truly lack no good thing! Yes, my flesh may long for the pleasures that this world can give. Yet, what I have found out is that they are but fleeting, here today and gone tomorrow. Yet You, oh Lord, bless me for eternity!
Master, satisfy my longings with Your grace! Fill my cup with Your presence! Touch my heart with Your hand. Remind Your servant of the blessings of being with You, the satisfaction that is drawn from Your glory. Quench my thirst with the rivers that flow from Your throne. Fill my belly with Your Word. Then I shall know what it means to indeed taste and see that You are good, to mount up on wings of eagles, and to be satisfied in You.
I look this day unto the hills, knowing from whence my help comes from. Let the light of Your face shine on me, on us, this day, that we might experience the peace and joy of Your glory! Amen!
