Sovereign LORD, I hide myself in the shadow of Your wings this day. There I am shielded from the troubles and woes of this world. All that appears before me to consume me must yield to Your power for You are God and there is none other. It is You that provides my rear guard; You shield me from the fiery arrows of the enemy. You protect me in my going out and my coming in. You cover me.
When my soul faints and almost falters within me, through Your Holy Spirit You speak hope into my circumstances and shine Your light on my way. You show me not only the way I should go but also graciously walk me in that path, holding me up on every leaning side and strengthening me along the journey. You remove the obstacles and encourage my soul. You reveal to me Your righteous plan for my life, and remind me that it is indeed well.
Through Christ You have made me Your own, adopting me into Your family. Because of His great love for me I shall never be alone. You have cleansed me of all my sins, and have instilled within me the great hope of hopes: I shall one day not only see Him in all of His glory, but I shall dwell with Him, in the presence of my God, for eternity. Hallelujah! He is that Friend that sticks closer than a brother! He is the Shepherd and Bishop of my soul. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End! He is the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star. He is the King of Kings and Lord of lords! He is my Savior and the true lover of my soul!
Today, my God, I give You praise. I worship You and glorify You. My heart bows down to You and surrenders totally and completely. Thank You for drawing me near. Thank You for doing what only You can and could do for me. Thank YOu for loving me. Thank You!
