For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
Psalm 62:1-2 (ESV)
Lord Jesus, as I begin this workweek there are some real facts that I am embracing: a lot will come my way and at times I may very well be shaken by them. Yet, this I know for certain: You are my Rock and my Salvation. You are my Fortress of Peace. And, though I might be “shaken” by this world, I shall not be greatly shaken! I am more than a conqueror through You! Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus!
I lay before You all the opportunities and challenges that will come my way over the course of this week. It is my heartfelt prayer that You would open my eyes so that I can see You in the midst of it all, whether good or not so good. Show me the Holy Spirit’s work behind the scenes. Calm my spirit as I am bombarded by “world stuff,” reminding me that You are always in the midst, holding me and keeping me. Don’t let me be caught up in the details but instead be swept away by Your sovereign working out of all things for my good.
Lord, my eyes are looking for Your fingerprints all around me, for You alone, my God, does my soul wait in silence. In holy expectation I lift my eyes and heart up towards heaven, silently waiting on Your soon return. My soul cries out with John, “Even so, come Lord Jesus!” Thank You for calling me Your own. Thank You for setting me apart. Thank You for saving me. But most of all, thank You for filling me with Your glory! Amen!
