You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign LORD…I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep…I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me…
Ezekiel 34:31, John 10:11, 14 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, I worship You. I praise You for You are indeed the Good Shepherd! When I go astray You leave the ninety-nine to come find me. When I am injured You bind me up. When I am weak You strengthen me. You have secured me eternally through Your precious sacrifice, calling me by name. You have placed Your mark on my heart so that none will ever doubt whether I am Yours. Though the evil one attempts to come and disrupt my grazing in Your pasture You drive him off. And should he get his clutches on me it is You Who delivers me for You fight my battles. There is no one like You! How great You are!
Today, I listen for Your voice. I intentionally block out all other voices calling my name. It is You I choose to follow. Even as David declared, “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want,” my soul speaks these very words. You are my portion. You satisfy all my longings. My soul resonates with Peter’s words today, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life (John 6:68) .” I desire to be no place but in Your presence. For there I experience what true life is!
Lord, I choose You today and every day. I want none other. I want You. I want to follow You. I want to be with You. I want to please You. I want to be in You even as You are in me. I want to be one with You!
Lord, lead me. Where You lead me, I shall follow.
Thank You for knowing me, loving me, and caring for me before I ever knew it. Thank You for going out and bringing me into the fold. Thank You for rescuing me, sacrificing Your life for mine, pouring Your life into mine, and giving me everything I need for life and godliness. Lord Jesus, thank You for You are indeed the Good Shepherd! I am Yours. Do with me as You please to Your glory! Amen!
