Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

Lord Jesus, as I read these verses, my mind immediately went back to the song we used to sing in church worshipping You. Even now my spirit smiles singing the call and response that our church put on it after these two verses, “How great is our God? How great is His Name? He’s the greatest One. Forever the same. He rolled back the waters of the mighty Red Sea, He said, “I’ll keep You, if You trust in Me.” What joy fills my soul, even now, as I reflect upon how I felt back then when I sang those words! Master I am reminded of Your greatness, Your love, and Your care!
On the end of a difficult week, I so needed to be reminded of Who You are and the wonderful journey You have taken me on to get me to this place. You have brought me through even more challenging times. You have demonstrated that You are indeed the LORD, my God, and that there is nothing too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:27)! I have hidden in the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 17:8), and You have given me more comfort than a mother gives her child (Isaiah 66:13). It is well with my soul!
Master, I clear my mind of all the things that are bombarding me in the moment as I look to finish this workweek off. Instead, I choose to think upon those things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable (Philippians 4:8). And in this moment, all I think about is You! And oh, I so needed that! My heart is filled with praise and gratitude. You are the Calmer of my storms, the Peace Be Stiller of the tempests that rage. Thank You. I so need You and so love You. Great are You, oh LORD! I glorify Your Name and worship You this day. Amen!
