If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. Psalm 130:3-4 (NIV)
Father God, the weight of my brokenness is ever before me. As I read Your Word and internalize Your righteous requirements I declare with the psalmist who can stand before You? The very best that I can do is but filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). When I would do good, evil is always right there with me (Romans 7:21). With Paul, I declare, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” And like him, I thank You through Jesus Christ, my Lord, Who did for me what I could not do for myself, and ushered me into a glorious and eternal relationship with You!
I thank You this morning for the forgiveness that is mine through my Savior. I thank You for wiping the slate clean, casting my sins into the sea of forgetfulness, covering my sins with the blood of Jesus, declaring me 100% righteous! I have been infused with the righteousness of Christ. When You see me You see HIM! Hallelujah! I don’t deserve it. But I am so grateful!
So Father God, I surrender my life to You completely and totally to Your service. You are my all-in-all. I praise You and thank You for accepting me as Your own. With eternal gratitude I walk in this newness of life, declaring that I am not my own, but have been bought with a price. Therefore, I dedicate this day to You to serve You with my whole being. I lay my life before You to use as You see fit. Open my eyes to how You would use me this day to serve You. Show me whose life You intend to touch, what actions of love and kindness You want to demonstrate, and what words of encouragement You want to convey through me. Use me to Your glory by the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
