As water reflects the face, so the heart reflects the person.

Proverbs 27:19 (CSB)

Lord, today I pray for a life that speaks for me. When folks see me today and everyday, I pray that they would not see just my actions, because sometimes I just can’t get right. I pray that they do not just hear my words, because sometimes the wrong stuff comes out of my mouth. I pray, instead, that they would see my heart. I want them to see my love for You and my love for them. I want them to experience the overflowing splendor of who You are through me, knowing that I love them because I love You.

Now, it is not lost on me that sometimes even my love for others runs a little thin. No. Not a little. A lot. And sometimes I just don’t want to be bothered. It is especially in times like those that I want Your presence in me and through me to overflow, that Your Spirit would prick my heart and remind me of who You have called me to be in You. Remind me of the greatness of the gift that You have given me in spite of the dark reflections of my heart. And cause Your glory to rest on me, filling me from the inside out. Convict that I might repent and get right with You so that I can indeed let my light shine. Then they will see the change and glorify You for it.

Today and this week I declare to be my “Reflection Week.” Master, I want to shine the spotlight of Your love on all who come my way. And it begins with me. Recharge my gospel batteries today. Give me a gospel glow of grace, demonstrating to the world not only my gratification but also my heartfelt submission to You and to them. By Your Spirit draw them to You, using me as You see fit. Let my life be a reflection of You, that when they see me they see You, all to Your glory. Amen.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (CSB)
