I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.
Jeremiah 31:25 (NIV)
Lord Jesus Your words ring loud and resoundingly in my heart this morning, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) In Your presence is refreshment for my soul. When I steal away into that blessed garden to be with You, though my heart be weary and my soul faint, upon leaving I am infused with new vim and vigor. Through Your Spirit You connect my being with life-giving drive. Indeed, You make me feel like going on!
This morning I plug my spirit into Your Spirit. I seek what only You can give. Refresh Your servant today. As I take my focus off the weights of life that pull me down, continue to remind me to look to the hills knowing where my help comes from (Psalm 121:1-2). Remind me that success is not through any thing that I bring to the table but by Your glorious Spirit (Zechariah 4:6). Calm my fears and hold me up (Isaiah 41:10). You, my King, are the Source and the Strength of my life!
I praise You and worship You this morning for being all this and more for me. It is my desire that this day might be filled with worship of You. I cast upon You (1 Peter 5:7). I declare that You are my joy and my joy is made complete through my fellowship with You (1 John 1:4). Please continue to speak to my spirit throughout this day as I navigate through “life stuff.” Help me not to allow my heart to be troubled or overwhelmed because I know You are with me (John 14:27)! Keep this, Lord, at the forefront of my mind, enabling me to hold fast to the truth that greater is He Who is within me than he who is in this world (1 John 4:4)! And that “He” is YOU! Thank You, Master, for loving me! Amen!
